How Can I Be Sure I Am Truly Saved in Christ?

Signs That the Holy Spirit Is Working in a Saved Life

While feelings are not proof, the Bible does give us honest signs that show real, growing faith:

• A genuine, even if imperfect, love for God and for other believers
• A conscience that is sensitive to sin and quick to seek forgiveness
• A growing hunger to read the Word and to pray, even when it is hard
• A desire, however weak at times, to obey God rather than please self
• The witness of the Holy Spirit bringing quiet peace in your spirit

The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. — Romans 8:16

If you see even the small beginnings of these things, do not despise them. God is not looking for perfection; He is looking for a heart that keeps turning back to Him.
